How much oil ??

How much oil should an ex hold if everything is drained. Its a 99 with a stock cooler. I was gonna take off all the lines and screen and clean it all out. Its an old one thats been sitting forever and I am just wanting to clean everything out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Use 4-Stroke oil SAE 10W-40

After draining = 1.9qts

After draining/filter change = 1.95qts

After disassembly = 2.3qts

This is straight from my 99-04 400ex service manual.

Thanks, I was thinking in the 2 qrt range would work also.
