carb won't fit into the airbox boot.. solutions??

I'm tired of trying to wedge my air box boot onto my 38mm carb. What options are out there? I race MX only, so an open filter may be an option, but I would really like to keep some sort of airbox.

Let's see what you guys have done.

Take the boot and boil it in water........not too long though. Let it get soft, then slide it over the carb. and let it set overnight. Thats pretty much it.

I've done that, my vote for it is to buy a new 86 intake tube. It will easily stretch over that. Once they get hard, its tough to stretch them and you can crack them. Also, search on 3ww under my name for "beer bottle trick", you'll find a trick I found to fitting bigger carbs.
