I think that the xr650 would win then the dale with anysort of mapping or even stock and then the raptor but then again it all depends on the riders

whichever one has the highest top speed will win
A mile or mile and half is a long race and all machines would reach their top speed long before the end of race

Your picking quads that are very close as far as mechanics. I say it would depend on the rider also! But you dont have one so i guess it doesnt matter! :p

i think the dale with a pipe and mapping would have potentail to beat the xr650.. pending rider, surface condition etc..

i've seen xr650s do a 100+ on desert races;)

the xr650 would kill them both... the power to weight and is way more and the xr650 has more hp also...

it would be like a 400ex vs a 300ex

xr650 will blow em away

it doesnt matter what the rider is like your going to have over 1 1/4 miles of just bounceing off the rev limiter in top gear which ever one has the highest top speed will win more than likely the xr 650

i raced a stock 400ex on my CR125R...sure i shifted in 5th when he was going to 2nd and i was 3 seconds away from hitting top speed but the 400 has like 1mph more top end on me so after going a mile he was right beside me and inching forwards

xr would bury them easily top speed has to be close to 95-100mph

there is no way in he// a stock blaster goes 59mph. I would know that.:blah

01-10-2003, 06:36 PM
blaster's do go aout that, so i guess you do know too much

ok if it is a c-dale bike it would be close to the xr if it is the cdale quad it will be a little faster then the yamaha. my next door neighbor has an xr650 with the factory power upgrade no pipe, he says it would go to fast if he put a pipe on it plus he has it as a dual sport(blinkers horn and lites) so it cant be much louder then it is now, well now to the point my mechanic(he has a ktm dual sport 620) and him raced(the xr650) on the road and the ktm's stock speedo 110mph and the xr's trail tech speedo, wich was calerbrated corectly, said 105mph both had dirt tires on it and they were on the paved road, so yeah an stock xr650 will haul any stock quads ***.

add 2 -4 mph on each thing and you got the righ speed cause i beleive a 300 will do about 556-58 and the 400 will do about 68 and the da is a lil faster than the raptor but not as fast acceleration. and the c dale is the fastest but in that long a drag the xr650 should womp on the other two

if u guys are talking about the xr 650r, liquied cooled aluminum frame then it would have no competition, the xr is the fasteset top speed production dirtbike also, it does 110, the speed chart seems pretty accurate, i could easily beat 400exs with my rm 167, it was no competition

I think he was saying that because people where saying 'depends on the rider' when at that distance the rider isn't really that important.

Btw, that saying 5% bike, 95% rider. That is way off. I think its more like 30% bike, 70% rider. :blah

with top speed numbers, its more like 95% machine 5% rider input. You could gat a mile an hour or 2 out of a bike if you duck down. so rider input helps but... its mostly motor doing the work...

now a motocross track is exactly the opposite.

definately the xr650 if it is a long distance.

i raced a 2001 XR650 with the baffle removed against my stock raptor with full skids, he probably weighed 50 lbs more than me but with more experience. but for the first 3-4 gears it was a very close race. and when i got to 5th he was gradually pulling on me.

on the way back we were racing again and i was pegged in 5th and he was pegged also and we were neck and neck and no one was gaining on the other, after a few seconds he realized he had another gear, then he gradually pulled away.

this is just my experience, and i have raced the xr650 3 times with similar results but me doing better each time.

i don't know much about the cannondale, so i can't say anything about them.

if you were in 5th and you are neck and neck with the xr the xr must have not shifted into 6th

Raptor_Rider_KY

correct, that's what i said..... i said i was pegged in 5th and he was full on his throttle as well and we were neck and neck, then he realized he had another gear, he shifted and gradually pulled

well i think that the c-dale will win

Juggalo

this is like what would win between a bmx, a 15 speed bike, or a mustang. the XR can go over 100 mph plus its a dirtbike and has more horesepower than either quad. more power+less weight= bike winning by far.

theres no way a WARIOR will go almost the same speed as a 400ex and a blaster will not beata 300 because i had a 300 and beat a blaster with a fmf pipe in a drag and my 300 was stock jmo

Brad

i forget what dirtbike mag i was reading but it had a racing xr650 of some kind and it said the top speed was around 125mph so i think that 1 would win
