How tight do I tighten the clutch springs. Im almost done with the frame up, attached the clutch cable today and its really hard to pull the clutch now. no kinks in the cable or anything. Is it possible to over-tighten the clutch springs/bolts? any input.. 02-400ex thanks

no you cant over tighten the springs. there is a shoulder on the bolt so it can only go in so far.

I had the exact same problem, It was the cable. Mine pulled freely when not hooked up and the clutch was extreemely hard to pull when I hooked it up. I took it apart at the lever and sprayed wd40 and oil down it and it loosened right up. I also thought it was a clutch problem and took the clutch apart and rechecked it several times because I was sure it wasn't the cable. As it turns out it was the cable. Id check that first even if you dont think it is, its a free fix.

I took my cable right off and made sure I had oil running through from one end to the other the more the better. It took a while to get it all the way through but it made all the difference in the world. The first time I rode it I put on 90 miles and couldnt move my left hand for 2 days. Then after the lube I can pull it with one finger.
