Everyone take a look at this axle...

This is a lonestar racing axle, this picture was from quadforce.com. But I was wondering is this an extra long axle or something? Because the quad looks lowered and wider is this all because of the axle?

Its a wider axle and he has 18 in turf tamers on it so it makes it look lower and wider also

nothing special, its a normal lonestar axle that you would get form any distributer

Not any wider than mine,,,just looks that way with the different tires and rims...;)

Notice how some of the knobs are shaved from those Turf Tamers? What kind of conditions is the best suited for?

Motocross. You get a lot more traction but they wear out faster.

Yah, I figured they were used for MX. But would there be certain track conditions they would be best suited for, e.g. sandy, loam, hard pack, etc.? Would there be a certain track condition where you would want all the knobs on it? Just curious...

For sandy or loamy conditions you'll want to shave off some of the knobs to open up the tread pattern. That's why stock 400ex tires are the best knobby for sand because they are so open. For hardpacked dirt, like a clay mx track, you would want to leave them ungrooved.
