As a Chevy die-hard I will have to say that I hope they lose the Avalanche grill in a hurry. The rest of the styling can remain but the grill needs some TLC.

That first truck looks like a lifted limo. Go with the new dodge. Or a FORD. Chevy sucks

I agree with guy.... lose the Avalanche front end... don't make it like the new dodge...have you seen a grille bigger?:p

Chevy needs to: Lose the Avalanche front end off the 3500-2500 and HD trucks, and make something beefy, sylish, and bling. Another thing is make more engine choices...like a 6.0 and others, instead of just a 5.3, the 8.1, and the deisel Duromax. And fix those DuroMax heads! Get some nicer ones...not aluminum...I've heard alot of people saying they're heads warped. It could have been just the batch of aluminum. Just listen to your customers....and other companies customers....or take a survey about what they want in a truck.

I'll give it to Ford, they made a truck that people were wanting, but as soon as that style gets older...another company will be better...then another.

What a total piece of crap. I bet if you hit a fruit fly with that thing it will total out. Where the **** is the metal? Is it a truck, or a rice mobile with a bed?

I HATE NEW TRUCKS. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL STRONG TRUCKS? WHATS WITH THIS PLASTIC CRAP?

Who hired the lead designer at Chevy? Come on.

And other thing that would be nice is a Twin Turno Vette Model.
Or a Twin Turbo Camaro..if they ever re-continue them.

they would have contuiuned the heavy thick Volvo type design in trucks if thats what everyone wants, but its not, get over it, sides, i would rather drive a Dodge, which i consider the lowest of the trucks, than a import

This is what I own. Both were brought brand new.

2000 Ford F-350, 4X4, dually, mason dump, V10.

2002 Chevy 2500HD, V8, 4x4, crew cab, 6.5 ft bed.

Both trucks are used for a landscaping business. They do not acquire that many miles and are not driven hard. The Ford pulls a trailer and is used on a daily basis during the major season's. The Chevy is just used to carry workers, wheelbarrows, and etc... Both are driven mostly around towns and don't get on the highway much.

At 10,000 miles the Ford went back to the dealer. It was handling horribly and not running right. Stuff was coming loose and wearing out. When it came back from the dealer it had a 3 page parts list of warranty work. They basically replaced the whole steering assembly and other front end parts. It is much better now that it is back but still not that good. I can't wait until I have to pay for the repairs after the warranty runs out. Just to remind you this is with only 10,000 miles.

The Chevy has about 8,000 on it now. When it had about 6,000 it was hesitating and kind of jumping back and forth when you gave it gas and was running horribly. It idled very roughly also. It went back to the dealer and an injector/injector cap was loose. Getting this fixed made the truck better, but it still does not run all the way correct. The other main problem in this truck is all the seats and plastic stuff in the truck squeak and make noise. The fit and finish is not up to par. The paint also scratches very easily.

Both trucks get horrible mileage. On the highway the Ford gets about 10 without a trailer and the Chevy gets about 12.

I am dissapointed with both trucks. Since both trucks are totally different, I can't really judge which is better, but I can tell you that from my experience GM puts out a better product than Ford.

Actually, Chevrolet does offer a 6.0 liter V8. You can get it in the 1500HD, 2500, 3500. They have 6 different engine options, 4.3L V6, 4.8L V8, 5.3L V8, 6.0L V8, 8.1L V8 Big Block, and the 6.6L Duramax diesel.

Sure your truck borke at 10000 miles but i dad has have 2 powerstoke desils (sp??) they both did 200,000 km's before they when back to the dealership (leased) there wan't a problem to be found, and on top of that my dad had a f250 (lightduty) that did umm 220,000 km's and it the only parts that were put on it were a new axle bering at like 200000 km's so i my family has yet to have a bad experence with a ford so guess what the next truck will be??? a ford

What did you say? I can't tell hardly a word....

On statistical figures....Chevies last longer....I'm not biased....I know there are some tough ole' fords out there.

But, there are always lemons.

Thanks you quadracer for correcting me....haven't looked at a new chevy lately...well any truck really....I'm staying old Skool:D

I've got a 93' Chevy Ext. Cab, Fullsize bed. Dual split exhaust.
I've got a winch for it...but no bumper yet. Also getting 31" Baja Claws with Powertrax lockers front and rear.I might get some rims...dunno what kind.
Then all the bling looking stuff....Need a job....But I've got a good start...I've got a little less than a year till I'm driving( License).

About the chevy....I dunno...all new interior in GM's squeek for some reason.The Paint scratching could be just the color of paint. My guess about the rough running is some sensor. You know new stuff....I'd take it to the dealer and ask them about it.

Ps a ford will out life any truck out there other than gmc cause they are the same. Doge are ok also my boss has to have 2 trucks all the time hes got a ford f250 W/ the 350 standard for towing the hay wagons and a doge 1/2 ton with the 318 and he can almost never keep both trucks on the road. YOu have to have both so he can get to and from work and let me tall you its usaully the ford that breaks and the doge usualy needs repairs cause we beat it up and break stuff lol like i took it through a 4 foot high snowbanking and ripped off the exaust lol but other than that its a strpong truck. Here is what i think about fords nice truck untill you hit about 5 years old then they start to slowly fall apart then you hit 10 years old and all he!! breaks loose and the whole truck just desintergrates. lol The chevy we have know has lik 60000 on it only been to the shop once and that was for the u bolt that was coming loose and making a clunking in the rear end. It cost like 100 to get it replaced and fixed so we arnt complaining and im sure thats what the next truck will be that or a gmc.

Ok, the 4.8 is like a 294 or somethin like that, the 5.0 is a 305, a 5.3 is the 327, a 5.7 is the 350, 6.0 is the 366, the 7.3 is a 454 and i believe the 8.1 is a 494.

Gosh darn it! I love my Chevys as much as the next guy, but for crying out loud every year everything looks more and more chitty! What happened to the old school truck that were made to be fixed by the average Joe? Now you need a degree in electrical engineering to understand any of this crap. Ahhh, for the old school days....ahh what is progress? :(

The 4.8 is around a 280. The 5.3 is a 327, the 350 is no longer an option, neither is the 454. The 6.0 is a 366, the 8.1 is a 498 big block, and the duramax diesel's ci is 396. The 305 and 350 are no longer an option in the trucks. The Corvette, and late model camaros had the LT1 then LS1 350. Now the Corvette has the LS6 350.

4.3 = 262
4.8 = 280
5.0 = DZ302
5.3 = 327
6.0 = 366
7.4 = 454
8.1 = I was thinking it was a 502 crate motor

The 94-96 camaro have the LT1 350CI 5.7 motor, The LS1 found in corvettes is a 348 5.7 and so is the LS6 in the Z-06 Corvettes with differnt cam and heads.

Gy's it's simple how to fiqure out litre's to ci's or ci's to litres there is 61 cubic inches in a litre (get it?) so to figure out let's say 8.1 litre to cubic inches you would go 8.1 x 61= 494.1 cubic inches

the 327 replaced the 350 in the Z-71's, i have the 350 in my Z-71, and my buddy has the 327 in his, let me tell you, it flys, but it is lighter than mine, 31in tires vs my 33's, its alot newer, mines 8 years old, so there is alot of factors, but that new 327 does have some balls

killed For the same reason Ford dumped their 351's in favor of the smaller 5.4L--technology. With advanced engine technology comes the ability to use less displacement to achieve the same power levels. This also lends itself to better fuel efficiency.
