I picked this up about a month ago, and have been mulling around on what I want to do with it. At first I was just gonna rebuild the top end and leave it all stock, but my head got the better of me.

I've decided to do a full frame off tear down and build a bad *** XC quad for the Colorado mountains, and possibly a race or 2 in the Colorado Hill CLimb Association, www.chcaracing.com if you're interested. I'm not sure yet if it's gonna be worth gusseting the frame, since I'm not MXing it, but if I can get the powdercoating done cheap enough, I'll do it.

This is how it sits now.

Yeah, the Red one is gonna be my hybrid project. Right now, it only has a 49cc engine with no manual clutch and it's slow as dirt, even though it has a 4 speed tranny.

All the chinese pit bike engines are the same, so I'm gonna put a 125 4 speed manual clutch engine in it, that's a spare engine for the black pit bike on the left (which suprisingly is pretty damn fast for what it is)

They really suck without a manual clutch cause even when you let off the gas to shift, it still feels like you're gonna break something, especially when downshifting.

Maybe I'll post my build on the bike. lol.

ANd yeah, just like my YFZ I had, I fully expect this 400ex to bankrupt me.

I will post pics, and perhaps a how to on the gusset kit install. I have a Lincoln 220 MIG in my garage, so I'll be doing it myself, and If I had a big enough oven, i'd do the powder coat as well.

I have a vision of what I want to do. Can you imagine what an all black quad would look like? I mean ALL BLACK, everything, motor, frame, plastics, exhaust, etc..

I think it would be totally sick.
