This might be a stupid question, but what the hell does this thing do?

holds the a arms down to get the front end to stay low in a holeshot so that you get more traction without wheelieing

damn it. i have been brain storming on how a holeshot device would work on a quad. bikes been using them for years. wanted to make one for my bike but not smart enough to figure out how you could make it. guess i should of paid attention in CAD class. haha

this thing works good i can leave harder and keeps the bike planted on the ground and also from pulling right or left its kinda like a drag car. but as soon as you get on the brakes or a corner the device releases back to normale

Damn, I need to get one of these, I suck at holeshots!! Haha.

seems like bs to me,its not real hard to keep a 400 pound quad from wheelying if you lean forward a bit,now a 50hp mx bike with half the weight is different.I have a banshee with over 65hp and i can keep the front end down when i want to;) Well like they say, people will buy anything:rolleyes:

Leaning to far forward causes your rear tires to spin and if they are spinning your not going anywhere. This allows you to keep your front down while still maintaining traction in the rear which in the end will allow you to get the holeshot haha.

I like the concept but I think thats the ugliest thing ever. I know its not about looks but why do you have to have 3lb blocks on your a-arms? I think he could make it look better than that.

yea he is working on smaller blocks but no one ever noticed it on my bike at the last nationals its not that bad back to the banshee guy its all about be consistent starts and this helps

Pretty cool. I could see how that would help tremendously. Motofreak, No way do those blocks weigh 3lbs... its just aluminum.

I know I was just kidding but they arent very appealing you know lol. Whats wrong with the shock holeshot devices? It should work the same with atv shocks and they also weigh less and can hardly be seen.

I'm not 100% on how they work, but on bikes they are attached to forks, solid mounting point, on ATV's there is usually only a spring there...

maybe on a fox float or somethign? Then you'd need two as well.

unless that banshee is extented or extremely heavy, you should play hell dumping the clutch and trying not to wheelie. i have a quad with only 55hp, and i have a hard time keeping the front end planted with a plus six swinger!

Axis is coming out with their holeshot system...

It locks down the rebound all the way until the first turn to keep the quad nice a low to the ground. Then you hit a button, and the shocks go back to normal after the first turn.....

We have been using the holeshot system for over a month now on our Pro MX riders bike running Custom Axis Pro-Airs and X-Link set up. Its awesome!! Theres no other word. Its amazing how something so simple can make such a difference. Our pro rider is very lite in weight and was suffering from front lift when the gate dropped, but last week at a Regional MX race he holeshotted 3 out of 3 motos by 3-4 bike lengths!! For the small additional cost its well worth having if you want to be the first guy into the corner.

I"m new to this but that doesn't help me find what i'm looking for. I did look back through the forum and see a big advertisement for this one called the axis which is coming soon. I wasn't looking for one imparticular but if somebody knows something about it I would like to know. That's what a forum should be. By the way, I've seen a lot of website addresses and such thoughout this forum so that rule is looked over quite a bit. Great information. Thanks:
