I have a 2002 400 and I just bought it at the beginning of summer and slowly have been redoing it. and I want to get a new chain so I have a few questions. What are the stock specs on the chain how many links ect, the one on it looks like a five in one chain. Its beat, and also is there a better front sprocket that i can get for it?

Here is a Pic of what i have done so far.

the stock chain is a 94 link 520 o ring chain with a 15 tooth front for the 99-04's and a 14 for the 05's+. the rears are 38 teeth. i would recommend any steel front and rear sprocket with a D.I.D. x ring chain.

so there is no after market sprockets that are better?

I see you have pretty big rear tires on that. If you still have the stock 15T front sprocket on there, you are lacking a little bit in acceleration over stock.

I would suggest you get a 14T steel front sprocket, it will add a lot more low end grunt to pull those big tires. I like Renthal steel front sprockets the best, they're bulletproof.

Pretty cheap too for the boost in felt power/acceleration at only $22
