off throttle back fire

i need to adjust my air fuel mixture but the cable is broke any ideas on how to adjust it?

that is the idle screw not the f/a screw. the f/a is in the carb directly above the black cable for the idle. this will make it quit popping if you richen it up half a turn or so. if it keeps doing it keep going and you should be good. it is the yellow circle on teh pic. steve

if you cant turn it out enough to clear up the problem without the screw falling out, you might need to go up one size on the pilot jet. You wont want to turn the screw out more then 3.5 turns or it could fall out on you. I went up one jet size and it cleared up my backfiring. I was 3.5 turns out now Im 1.75 turns out with a 40 pilot. Runs good now.
