Have you guys ever seen the people do that on Snowmobiles? They do it a lot here in washington. One guy tryed to take his snowmobiles across some lake (frogot which one). He went 68 miles across the lake, then he ran out of gas!! thats pretty cool though.

I have seen snowmobile racing on lakes in the spring. They actually set up buoys and race around the lake like the PWC's do! They start on the shore and get a running start. If you stall or wreck, out comes the boat with the lift winch to fish your precious machine off the bottom! It's pretty humurous to watch.
I've considered skimming with my R, but I am too lazy to tear it apart and clean it out if I wreck ;)

i wish we had good ponds for that everything around here is either real shallow that u just skim across or real deep where u sink

don't try to do that in cold weather. my friends dad wouldn't let me ride my 250 because i mess around with jumps and stuff too much. so i did that on a 90. 4 gear pinned. going about 30. i hit this 30 foot long puddle 3 feet deep. it was funny. i skipped for about 10 and then just sunk. and it was like 40 out. and i was completely soaked. there was like a 7 foot wave. it was pretty cool. i'll have to try it on my 250 sometime.

On that First pic of me.....

That day i got really carried away with hydro-plaining and i got a little TOO confortable with doing it and i didnt lean back far enough and My front end went under the water and my quad came to a dead stop and started flipping end over end and my back fender slapped the water and cracked and the only reason my quad didnt drown out was b/c i was laying underneath it in the water. the water was only about 2 1/2 to 3 feet deep. If your gonna do this....LEAN BACK......FAR! Heres the pic of my fender.

he's worried since i ride hard that i'll hurt myself and sue him or something:rolleyes:. so he let me bring my 250 the next time. i went and he caught me doing this jump like 40 feet long in between like 2 trees and i got like 6 feet high. now, i'm not even aloud to go there.
