LOL ok ok enough hes asking 500CDN I offered 300 and If I did get it for that much and fixed it up (like a tune up, fresh paint on the a-arms and frame and so on, fix the seat, and give it a good cleaning what would it be worth then? would it be an investment?

a junkyard would charge you to throw that in it. i'd say it's worth -$150

A fourwheeler that old will never be an investment. As soon as you get it going, something else will break. I'd pass on it and look for something about 10 years newer, unless it is a classic, but a warrior is not.

he's correct. If you buy it and fix it up then plan on the never ending project.

I had that exact same model brand new. Dang thing was a tank and ran forever. I never did a thing to it except regular maintenance. I ended up selling it and buying a 250R.

My uncle bought one around the same time that I did. He still rides it almost daily checking cattle and fences around his farm.

no I was just thinking make it look nice make it run good put it at tghe side of the raod and sell it for 1500 bucks. and remeber before you start running your mouth. this is Canada and this is the first quad I've ever seen sell for under 2000. if you have a 300ex with a twisted frame you can sell it for 1500 bucks over here.

If that thing runs... i would say its easily worth $300. Id buy it and just use it as a beater. But if you cleaned it up and made it look half decent and it ran good. You could put a few extra bucks in your pocket. I know what you mean about the market up here in Canada. I bought a 95 RM 250 in the states for $550... did nothing to it but clean it up, regular maintenance, sold it for $1950 3 months later.

finally a decent reply thank you and yeah I think I'm going to head up and take a look at it. I have a 300ex for a beater but its blowin oil and I could just get this for for the same amount as it would cost for a rebuild on the 300. so I think I'll grab it for a toy if nothing else.

Im not positive why. But almost everything is. Ive bought quite a few things in the states and sold them up here, especially when the dollar isnt that bad. But the market here is also alot different. Fully built aftermarket quads are very hard to sell up here for a good price. But things in the 1k-3k range up here sell like crazy. Dirtbikes down in the states that range from 600-1500 are worth 1200-2800 or so. Just have to realize about the exchange, the trip down and back, as well as taxes at the border to make sure its worth while.

check out the biketrader or kijiji.... youll see what i mean.

where do you live in ontario? how hard is it to bring stuff across? I've been seriously thinking about making a small business out of importing bikes and I also want a 400ex for a trail bike.

Im located in St.Catharines. About 15 minutes from the niagara falls border. Its fairly easy bringing things across. Just have all your paper work lined up and be prepared for them to check over your truck completely. You get charged sales tax, plus if the quad is less than 15 years old, then you get charged an additional tax, i believe its 200-215 or something. Theres money in it... but i dont know if they would keep track on how many you bring across. A friend of mine use to buy and sell cars, and once he sold i think it was 6.... he started getting hasseled about getting a dealership license or something.

ive been debating on doing the same thing with a 400ex. Im going to sell my R or part it out here shortly and if i do, id like to either build another R for xc or just get a cheap 400ex.

HMMMM I have my omvic licence (I can sell cars) but I don't know what else I would need to get a dealers licence. but thats too much paperwork anyways and I'd have to give most of my profit to the government. but I've been seeing 400ex's over there for 800 to 1500 in really decent shape. once I get done my heavy equipment and AZ licence training I might jump over and grab one who knows. I can't figure out how to run craigslist very good and nobody sells quads along the northern NY border that I know of. I'm about 15 minutes out of Ottawa and 15 minutes from the bridge to the states but everyone selling is from the lower states and thats quite a drive for me.
