first off excuse me for the probably stupid question. Im just wondering if an adult(im 5'11, 150lbs) would fit ok on a 300ex?

I had a 400ex/yz426 hybrid i sold ... i now have a ltr450, but its too much for the woods, its heavy, i very rarely ever get out of 2nd gear and not to mention how much parts are for them(i like my toys to be pretty hooked up). Basicly i have this idea that id like to sell my 450 and buy a used national 300ex thats already completly hooked up. I just use my quad to race hare scrambles/XC races, i dont even ride it at all other than that so top speed for drag racing my neighbor down the road isnt a big deal. lol

it will feel a little cramped since you had are coming from a ltr450 and had a 400ex...but you should be able to adjust to that easily...what i don't think you will be able to adjust to is how much less the power is compared to what your 400ex had...i know what you mean about the 450's being too much in certain wood situations...i went back to a 400ex after 2 years on a trx 450r

you'll fit fine. i'm 5'11" and about 150. its the perfect size. i've ridden the 400s but perfer the 300. its much easier to toss around an rip wheelies

cool thanks for the input, yeah i know it will be way down on power. Im just wondering if it will really matter. I race in western NY and all the courses here are pretty tight, you get like 2 or 3 field sections a loop. there are some pretty nasty uphills tho too....

You will be fine. I have raced a couple on GNCC races on my sons and did ok. Not that I am very fast but had fun all the same.

a good suspension on a 300ex and maybe a little bit of motor work does wonders, i dont race very often, but ive passed a few 450's

no wider a arms or axles, that defeats the purpose of the smaller atv for woods racing

only other thing is reverese is sort of usless in any type of racing
