Hello everyone!
First post...My son has a 2005 yfz450 that we have been fighting some over heating problems. I added a Fluidyne oversized radiator but still having some issues with the fan coming on automatically. I have hot wired the fan just for now until I get a new thermo switch but with the bike running at 170 to 180 degrees it will start leaking coolant out the bottom. Could this be some sort of seal inside the waterpump that's allowing this to leak out the pin hole in the bottom? Obviously not a full blown mechanic but able to fix most things.
Thanks in Advance!
John

Probably need to replace waterpump seals and propeller shaft.

IF the motor is leaking from the bottom, check where to water lines connect to the motor. iF they are tight, chances are you will need to replace the water pump seals, if you need to do that, you might as well replace the pump impellar with a boysen high flow impeller. you can pick one up for about $170, it will also take care of your heat problems.

Changing the seals is an easy task, shoot me an e-mail, and Ill send you step by step directions on how to do it.

IF you choose to go with the Boysen high flow pump, it comes with all the seals you will need accept #31 from second link here is a link to it
