what is the kick on the aluminum frame? why does everyone want the 450r to go it? im just curious why. my buddy traded in his 08 yfz 450 for a new yfz 450r and he said his 08 is faster only advantage he says is the length of the yfz450r. wouldn't the fuel injection be a better upgrade then the aluminum frame for Honda? i personally wouldn't trade my honda for my buddys yfz450r. my honda is way faster and now that it is 50 in width i believe it handles better as well. the yfz r has nice throttle response though.

IMO, I'm perfectly fine with a carburetor set-up. I could care less about fuel-injection. To me thats just more stuff that can go wrong and more electrical crap running all over the bike. So I guess I'd rather see honda go with a aluminum frame with a kickstart option. That'd be a pretty dope setup.

I'd take an aluminum frame over EFI. Not that I'm against EFI, I'd just prefer the lower weight.

2010 450r is going to have both FI and aluminum frame. Thats what I was told. Its going to be like has been -kick start or electric start.

The 2010 450R is going to be the 2009 450R.

For 2010 Honda will not be making a 450r.
As of yesterday they annoucened they weren't supporting any ATV riders in 2010. Byrd, Upperman, and all the other Honda riders will be looking for new rides for the 2010 season.

I doubt that.

Just because Honda can't sponsor racers doesn't mean that they will stop making an ATV.

Honda is only making 2010 ranchers and couple other utility models for 2010. Its not like you can't buy one though there are thousands sitting in dealerships and warehouses becuase quads are not selling. KTM also isn't making a 2010 model. EFI is great for trail riding but I will keep a carb for racing. And I like a steel frame much easier to repair and weld then alluminum. I heard the gncc yamaha team had carbs on there YFZ R's this weekend. And Bill Ballance got the holeshot with it which he hasn't been able to so far this year.

What he means is that Honda will not manufacure any additional 450r 's this coming year. They will still sell a "2010" model which is basicly leftover unsold 2009 models. The logic behind this is: why make more of what you all ready have (with no changes)when what you have plenty of all ready hasnt sold yet......

I like KTM's idea better. Chromoly and Carb. The EFI just does not start fast enough. For a trail rider it's fine, but for a woods racer, no way. Some of the Pro GNCC YFZR's are running with carbs on them.

I see mx xc as well as desert 450rs frames breaking/cracking as is. So Id take the efi since aluminum bends easier. Riding a giant pop can waiting to fold on me as soon as I land a big tripple sounds painful and costly lol. Id love to see a 450r with reverse and efi or maybe a new open class 550 efi/reverse trail race bike with a motor as reliable as a 400ex that will put 450s and raptors to shame. just dreamin tho!
