View Full Version : Porting a CR 500 Cylinder

Now that I have my TRX500R together, I would like to know if anyone has suggestions for getting the cylinder ported? It is completely stock, and I think i am probably going to want to give it a few extra ponies. Any help would be appreciated!

Alcohol is one of the best mods you can do to a cr500 motor in a quad and probably a bike.
Most will get hot even with aftermarket radiators.
with alcohol the bike runs much cooler
00-01 cr250 ignition is also a great upgrade.

Nate McCoy will probably build you the fastest cr500 out of all the builders listed but you could port it your self raise the exhaust to 192 degrees duration if you dune drag it,188 if you want to keep the bottom end strong the transfers can be left at the factory heights just clean them up. Don't make the intake any bigger since it already big enough.
