i noticed oil coming out of the hole on the left side of the motor where all of the electricals go into it, i first thought that it was just pulled out and i could simpily take off the cover an put it back in. but now that i look closer at it i see that it's ripped. i looked on a few websites that sell oem parts and on the diagram it's saying i have to buy the whole damn stator just to get this one little rubber boot. anyone know who would just sell this small piece?

The little rubber piece that wraps around the stator wires?? before i paid for a whole stator i would silicon the heck out of it

yeah it has the wires running through it, and it keeps oil from coming out. i thought of that but it would look really ugly. i'd rather do that then buy a whole new stator though. anyone know where i can buy that piece??

Get yourself some high temp black silicone. Clean the area from
oil and dirt. Apply silicone in and around the hole. Smooth it
out flat, let dry. Should look like almost original. Good luck. ;)

i actualy have some silicone left over from doing my exhuats. but will it hurt if a little drips down into the oil?

Don't go crazy filling the hole. Silicone doesn't drip, just let it cure up over night. You'll be fine.

Clean it really really well before siliconing it. Its no big deal.

No, that's not just you. I guess I took that much for granted.

Use a good cleaner and don't get any on the stator

i actually didin't take the cover off. i just cleaned it really well with brake cleaner, siliconed it and i let it dry for a day. i went riding and not a drop of oil came out. i thought there may have been a few minor leaks also but there wasn't any thankfully. i guess i filled the coolant a bit too much and some came out of the overflow though.. how could i take a little out?

Just let it come out on its own. Just make sure that the antifreeze is puking out of the overflow and not boiling out of the radiator itself.

Good to hear it worked out for you. Drain a little coolant by removing the drain bolt on the water pump cover.

and i forgot to add that you can't even tell it's been siliconed. blends right in with the rubber. but what bolt are you talking about? i've heard of people getting air bubbles in their system, how does that happen?

Air bubbles that are significant are few and far between. He is talking about the 10mm headed bolt that is right below the waterpump.

x2 on the bubbles. I've always used the lowest 8mm bolt on the water pump cover to drain.
