stem help

i was putting my build back together and was wondering how big the washer on the end of the stem needs to be to hold it in the bearing snug. I have one now and when i dont have the top clamp tight i can kindof pull the stem up about 1/2 to an inch. this sint normal is it? and help ir pics would be appreciated

if memory serves me correct. there should be a coller type spacer that goes there followed by the nut/bolt. :confused:

well mine has the allen head bolt that screws into the stem and one washer now, thats how i took it off maybe thinking it was missing when i got it. the one in the link has a nut that fits on. Will is still need the collar?

i'm thinking it will ehorst33. i can look at my boy's 250r this evening when i get home as his has the same stem as you. :cool:

i just looked at my sons quad and his utilizes the oem style race/collar. same as the stock stem would. :cool:
