250r/250xframes

are these frames pretty much the same?? I found a 250r chassis with a 250x motor for 300 bucks. Thinking this would be good for parts. not sure on year of frame tho. from what i have read is some model years have a link and some dont. I was wanting to put my 05 450r swinger on my sons 250x,but if it has a link set-up maybe just swap everything over to the 250r frame. thanks for any info!

They are nothing at all the same. The only thing that can swap is the swingarm but you need to fabricate linkage mounts.

Check the link in my signature and you can see my Laeger framed 250X/250R hybrid.

All model years of 250R have a linkage. If you put the 450R swinger on the 250X you will have to fab up linkage mounts as well but I'm not sure it will work that well.

If you get this frame you will have to buy everything else for it, only the motor will swap over.
