This past weekend, I went up to the Adirondacks in Upstate, NY to do some fishing in the Sacandaga lake. It was a great place to test out the new camera. Heres some of the shots I got from the trip.

This waterfall was really cool.

Needless to say, the dog was having a blast.. It was her first time swimming in a lake.

The other partner in crime. It looks like hes taking a dump, but he was just getting ready to charge out into the water .

Cool pictures. Looks like you're enjoying the new camera.

The waterfall is a beautiful exposure. :)
Running dogs are hard to track but I can see that the first picture of the dog leaping into the water is out of focus, keep practicing and that will get better.
Make sure that your horizons are level, the bridge is a bit tilted. That can be corrected in post process easily though.

As long as you're having fun and learning, that's all that matters.

Thanks! I spent alot of time just testing out different settings, and seeing what works. But I noticed some of my shots are a little crooked and out of focus. I try to use the manual focus as much as I can, but I guess for action shots like with the dogs, it would be better to keep it on auto focus, Im guessing? But I really wanna invest in a tri-pod. Alot of the waterfall pictures and night pictures came out a little blurry.

But for now, im just having fun with it. Overtime with more experience, I hope to get a better eye and understanding of taking more professional looking pictures. I apreciate the input though! :)

But for this shot, a tri-pod would of been sufficient.

Manual focus hell...USE AUTO!!! It is more accurate 99% of the time then you are!!

I agree! With the exception of the macro world.

I corrected a few things, enhanced a few others.

With that much white water, and the exposure biased towards the midtones, you were bound to have some problems.

I took the liberty of making a few changes tos how you what was hiding in what you posted.....and it wont take long for you to take the shot that doesnt need a bunch of corrective work!

This one is my favorite. I sharpened the outline of your dog and added a boost to the sunset.

Nice shot, one memories are made of!

Thanks pappy! Those pictures look alot better! what exactly did you use to fix those photo's? I have photoshop elements, but since im not to formiliar with it, I find it easier to use irfanview to do resizing, and mess around with the color corrections... But I don't really know what im looking for, as far as getting the right exposure, correcting the colors, ect.

I'd love to go back there in the fall when all the colors come out! That would be nice.

Nothing fancy, just basic edit work. The White water was the hardest, had to remove the yellow and then blue cast from it.
