my 400 needed a rear brake job bad recently, I swaped out the pads with some tusks my freind gave me for free. I changed out the fluid with synthetic dot 3/4 valoline..
When looking at the rotor I noticed it was a 220mm, same as my CBR1000RR. I matched up the ex's to a rotor I had laying arround and they both line up 100%.
I installed the CBR rotor on the hub and used the bolts from the CBR.
The only difference is that the cbr rotor is 4mm thick (compared to 3.5 on the 400ex). So I had to push the pison back flush (cracked open the bleader to do it)...once installed it sits perfect. no rubs, full pad contact, and a better bite on the braking.
I really recomend the 04-05 CBR1000RR rear rotor on the 400ex. you cant go wrong.
