Ready to pull the trigger and wondering now if the Fox would be worth $200 more than the Elka Rec series shocks? Any input? Can't seem to find anyone with the Fox to get a first hand opinion. Everyone seemed to chime in and say go for the Fox a couple weeks ago unless the Elka had rezzies which they don't on the rec series. Both are their respective entry level shocks. Around $450 for the Ekla's and $620 for Fox Float.

i haven't had any experience with either but i know that the floats are a better shock. like i said before, they're infinitely adjustable. all you do is add or let out air to adjust them. Stoopidbot has a set of floats on his 450R you could ask him what he thinks about his

I used four fox floats on a go-kart I built in school (SAE Baja if anyone is familiar). They worked amazing for that. It takes seconds to adjust them and they can be set up for anything. In my opinion they are worth the extra money. Make sure they come with the pump to adjust them if you get them from e-bay.

Are you talking about the Fox Float, or the Fox Float Evol R?

They have just basic pretty much non adjustable floats. Don't know anyone that has em.

He's talking about the standar floats like these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-TRX250EX-300EX-FOX-FLOAT-RACING-AIR-SHOCK-TRX_W0QQitemZ290328275174QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors _ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4398e9e8e6&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

they're still infinitely adjustable bc you can put anywhere from 50 psi to 150 psi in them. if i had the money, i'd get a set for my 250

i have a set of rec series shock bodies custom valved for me and my style with added adjusters...

to clarify, i ordered rec shocks, i wanted the next model without the hi low speed adjust but have the rebound and ride height adjust... call elka and talk to them they will custom make you a in between model... no rezzies but another adjustment besides ride height. i adjust the height with the spring and i adjust the rebound speed with a knob they installed for me were the rezzies connect to, you can use those bodies too and add rezzies to them later if you want, i find that there a very nice shock and that i wont ever need to buy another set as long as these stay good. very happy with elka. cant coment on fox but i know they are a close compeditor, you should be happy with either one unless your a pro racer.

Its up to you. If you got 200 more dollars, I'd go with the floats.

The fox floats you can only adjust one thing, which I believe is compression. You can adjust this infinitely. If there is a better model of fox shock that has more adjustments and is comparably priced, I would go with that. One great thing about the fox shocks is that they weigh a lot less than any coil over shock. They probably weigh as much as just the spring on a normal coil over.
