In the process of putting puttin a new 11.1 high compression piston in, and making it a 416 from a 408. Question is once the piston is in should i break the motor in with a full synthetic oil or a semi, then switch to a full once its broken in? thanks

When I did my 416 rebuild, we broke it in with standard non synthetic oil, then switched to full synthetic. That is what I would reccommend

You have to run conventional oil in the motor to break it in. Synthetic oil doesn't have the right minerals in it to break in a motor. but after the break in, i would run nothing but synthetic in it.
