i have a 87 trx 250x bored to 300 and i wanted to know if it was worth it to stroke out the motor? If it is worth it were can i get the parts and what is the best compression ratio? Also how much does it cost? How much work is it to install?

I think it would be great along with a really good valve job and port and polish. It would really open it up with that. I would say that 11:1 would be your best bet and i would look and see if hot rods or carrillo has stroker stuff for the 250x also. steve

thanks but do you think it is worth it to keep makeing the 250x motor better or should i just buy a atc350x motor and put it in? the only thing i would lose is the reverse, but do you think haveing reverse is that big of a deal?

that would be pretty cool or there is a cylinder that will bolt right onto the bottom end too that is from a bigger bore. i think it may be a 350 but i am unsure of what it is. i would check out the 250x/300ex section since they do quite a bit of this stuff too. they should be able to send you in th eright direction either way both motors would run good. the 300/250 is a very capable machine so i am sure whatever you do it will be really nice. steve
