I use no toil air filters. They are really easy to clean, but.....
to put them back on they are a pain in the *****. The stock filter just fit on easy, this thing you have to lub up with there stuff and rip apart your fingers to get it on. its messy as **** too!

Well Rick told me when I order one to get the design they made for him. I forget what was different about it though. I think it was a 250r or stock style setup. Have to PM him and ask, unless he sees this....

THE BEST FILTER IN THE WORLD

i picked one up for my yz when they first came out, you got a free filter with it back then. you can have it off the bike/cleaned/re-oiled/ back on the bike in 10 minutes easy.

plus its all natural. no harmful ish to the environment.

do you use a different filter oil for them, or any good filter oil? thanks

you use there oil.

it is vegetable oil in a suspension of rubbing alcohol along with other natural sticky additives. when u put it on the filter the alcohol evaporates and leaves a thin film of oil with its additives on the filter.

to wash just use the powder they supply(looks like TIDE) and put a little on the filter and about a 1/8 cup in a little hot water, let sit for 5 mins and wash after a little squeezing. it will look like new if you ride i dier, silt will take two washes. its like 15 bucks and will last almost a whole season if you ash it every ride.

it is really good stuff and i use it when its gets dusty at tower city, otherwise i use my k and n

normally if you use UNI or other oil it leaves that ring in your sink, this stuff doesn't becuase tjere is no pertoleum ingrediants. it is really good stuff, no damage to environment

Dude, No-Toil flat ROCKS!

I have been using their filter and oil for over a year now and love it. The only thing that I had to do different is put a small zip tie around the little metal tip that sticks thru the end of the filter. It appears that the hole in the end of the no-toil filter is just a touch bigger than stock. I actually have two of their filters and they are both the same. Other than that I would recommend these to anyone.

Ride on;)

Great stuff. I switched a few months back and I really like it. I am not using the Notoil filters though; I just use my uni-filters and twin air filters although I’m sure it will work with any good quality sponge type filter. Yes I use the sink in the house to clean my filters. I mix the recommended amount of cleaner in warm water and work the filter until is clean. I usually try to flush off the outside of the filter before putting it in the cleaning solution if I have been riding in the sand. Once sand gets inside any filter, with any filter oil, it is very difficult to get it out. Just a note, ALWASE ensure your filter is dry before you apply the oil; if you put oil on while the filter has any trace of water the oil will not penetrate that area (oil repels water, water repels oil) and you will end up with a unprotected spot on your filter.

Do they mount up just like the stock?

Snad Rider

It's not the filter that's so different here, it’s the biodegradable-easy to clean filter oil that makes Notoil nice to use. The Notoil filter I had looked like a stock filter. Notoil does sell filters to use with their oil but I don’t believe they are so different than any other good quality air filter. Try this to get started; clean whatever sponge filter you have now (clean and dry it thoroughly) and then apply the Notoil filter oil. You must use their cleaning solution when you next clean the filter.

Well I am going to order me up the Filter, Oil, Cleaner, and Rim Grease soon....

FYI. You do NOT want to use the filter grease on a clamp-on type filter. Keep the filter clamp connection clean and DRY to prevent the filter from slipping off the boot. Filter grease is for use on motorcycle filters where the filter just butts up to the boot: they don’t have a tight fitting rubber flange and clamp to make a good connection.

also, the 400ex filter has the nub to mount up to the stock screen that sticks in the 400ex stock filter. you will either need to plug the hole with a bolt, duct tape or other type of plug to run the filter without the screen. if need be just buy a new uni or what ever and buy the no-toil oil

if your filter is used, it is very important to wash it several times to remove the petroleum oil out of it, then wash it with tide toget it prepped for the no-toil oil

Ok thanks I won't buy the Rim Grease now. Save some money.

Rick Cecco (465Stroker) said they made a special filter for him that is suppose to be just like a 250r or something. I forget but he said it was better then the 400ex design. I will ask for that, but if I get the one just like Stock I will just use the screen.

Notoil made me several filters with the 400EX flange / 250R foam combination. This filter works great! You can use the Notoil oil for any type of foam filter.

Dave400ex

Rick do they still make that Filter? That's what I want.

465Stroker

You may have to ask for it. As far as I know they do not make the one we designed yet. I have used the oil on several different types of foam filters with the same great results so do not try to limit yourself to having a specific filter. It's all in the oil and it's easy maintenance.

Dave400ex

Well I may call and ask to see if they make that Filter, if not I will just get a UNI.
