PVL cleaning

I was getting ready to put my new ZTR PVL cover on when I saw that there was quite a bit if dirt in and around the pvl. Can I spray some kind of cleaner and let it drip dry?
I'm hoping there is some kind of electronics cleaner available.

mass air flow cleaner is safe to use , can get at automotive store

Darrell we use electrical cleaner from the auto parts spray it on and then i blow some air on it to dry it out you don't want to leave it wet hope this helps
