Last night i was on my way home to go to bed. So i could be up to go to truck Carlisle. I ened up falling asleep and the truck went up and enbankment and get some trees. I was in shock and got myself out of the truck. Everyone who came to the scene cant beleave i was alive and got out on my own. I sprained my knee and i am on crutches, i got 2 broke knuckles, some bumps on my forehead, and minor cuts.

Here's pic at 1:00AM on the scene.

I forgot to tell the whole story. I felt the truck hit the hillside by the time i opened my eyes it all happened so fast. First thing i did was look for my cell phone but it fell to the floor on impact. I saw the dash light said low fuel or something like that. Then i smelled something burning so i had to get my self out of this thing my drives door would not open. I grabbed the steering wheel pulled my legs up then hoped into the back seat and got out.

I was in shock i then ran down the road to the nearest house 400 feet away. I beat the **** out if the door rang the bell and everything now one would get up. Then i saw lights coming then flagged the guy down. It turned out to be an EMS and he said wow were you in that. I said yeah and he told me sit down because i was going crazy. He then radioed into the local fire department. I called my mom and dad right away then. I can't beleave it happened only 1.5 miles from my house. I was so close to home i thought i could make it. I think i had my seat belt on i can't remember. I normally always were my seat belt.

Accidents happen sure.. But tell that to that driver he smashed into that was on the same road as him... OR their family.......

Don't give me this excuse " oh it didn't happen so we can't treat it that way crap" ... Just because you didn't hit anyone while you were doing a DUI does that make it right to drive drunk.. Driving while your tired is the same as driving under the influence...

I feel bad that he wrecked his truck and hurt himself.. But it could of be a lot worse and he could of killed someone including himself.. He is very lucky..

I was only a 1.5 miles from my house it takes like 3 mins to get there from my house. If i was 50 miles away yeah i would have stoped. I was that close to home i thought i could make it. I see were your coming from and that your telling me that it was wrong. But at the same time i dont want to be called a dumb *** or a piece of ****. It is not like i did it on purpose. I hope you are wise enought to see my point of view to.

No I do understand where your coming from.. S%$^ happens and I know you said that you were 3 mins away from your home, but it only takes 1 sec to change someone's life forever... You didn't think it would have been a problem, but you totalled your truck and messed your self up.. I think that is punishment enough..

To bad about the truck though.. It was a sweet looking ride...

Your lucky that you weren't killed or hurt worse.. I'm not going to tell you that your a dumb *** or whatever, because I'm not your father and I'm sure your old enough to make sound decisions.. I'm just glad you didn't hurt yourself worse or get someone else hurt...

Glad you're ok bud. Too bad for the truck though.

Try blasting some music or leaving the window open if you're tired. Anything to keep you awake. The last thing you want to do is get comfortable when you're dozing off in the drivers seat.

i know for a fact that the insurance company wont give him the value of the aftermarket goodies he had on the truck...wheels, tires, lift, etc but they will give the blue book value of a stock 03 gmc with x number of miles on it.

thats just how insurance works.

Well i got good news all the way around so far. I saw a specialists for my hand. He said that there isn't much they can do for broken knuckles. But he said i can take the splint off some and move the fingers. I still have some swelling i was told to just use it easy and to come back next week. He said he is probley going to issue 3 weeks of light duty. So he gave me 3 weeks off work.

I saw the specialists for the knee. I was told to loose the crutches and knee brace. There is some swelling do to fluid. It should go away on its own. He said start to use it as normal just don't go crazy at first. Such as walking 3 miles or lots of steps. It is still all sore and i limp alittle.

State Farm called and went over all the options with me. Z71 off road package, 4:10 gears, posi, 5.3L, two tone paint, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power seats, bucket seats with center console, single cd player, rear defrost, dual climate control, automatic dimming rear view mirror with Compass & Temperature. There's probley some things i forgot they said if anything isn't on the list to let them know and they will pay for it. He thought it was only a 3" lift kit i told him it was a 6". They wanted $550 if i took the wheels and tires off. One if bent and cracked so i told them keep them. They wanted to only give me $75 for my duals so i gave them the stock and cut them ones off.

I think they payed me for the lift, tires, and hood even tho i didn't claim them on the insurance. They ened up giving me $16,060 and 10 cents. Now i got to wait for the check. I am thining about an 01-04 cummins. I did find a 2002 extended cab similer to mine only a step side with 38,000 miles for $9,995. I am thinking about buying it and then building it to what i had.
