Hi,

I bought an ATV for parts to use on my homemade dune buggy and I'm using the rims/tires, but I don't know what size hub to buy. It seems that hubs are almost all 4" bolt circle...

I have Razr Rims and Tires, the rear ones are 22x11 I believe, does anyone know what kind of hub I need?

Thanks

The size of the tire unfortunately has nothing to do with the bolt circle.

On sport atv's, there are usually 4 holes in the bolt circle and on Honda's, it is a 110mm diameter circle and 10mm clearance holes. Take a scale or a tape measure and measure as accurately as you can the distance from the center of one hole to the center of the opposite hole.

What kind of atv did you buy? This would be very helpful and make it much easier for anyone else to let you know what the bolt circle should be.

I have a 96 Honda TRX300EX... I did measure it to see if it was 4" and it is more than 4"... I really can't find anything other than 4", does this mean i'm out of luck?

Thanks

No- if you have a 300ex, your bolt circle should be 4x110. That's what my 250r is as well as what my 400ex was. It's a very common size interchangable with most any Honda sport atv and easy to find rims for

"4x110" means that there are 4 HOLES, and the bolt circle is 110mm in diameter.

The "4" is not the size of the bolt circle...only the number of holes.

110 is the size of the bolt circle diameter, measured from center of one hole to the center of the opposite hole.

For future reference; to convert metric to english(inch), take the millimeter dimension and devide it by 25.4. 110mm by 25.4= 4.33" To convert inch to metric, take the inch value and MULTIPLY it by 25.4.

What size are the wheel studs on your buggy? The holes in the rims coming off your atv should be just over 10mm, or roughly around .410" to allow for clearance over the atv's studs when you slide the rim on. Depending on what size your studs are, and what style atv rims you have, you may be able to take your rims to a machine shop- it will be an easy fix for them to put your rims on a mill and drill a new bolt circle or modify your existing one.

Perhaps you didn't see what I was making, I said I was making a dune buggy and I need to use a 1" shaft, with hubs to fit on this shaft. I don't think the splined hubs from the ATV will fit on this axle. I was looking for hubs like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Go-Kart-Cart-Manco-4-on-4-Hex-Wheel-Hubs-Barstool-New_W0QQitemZ390078107212QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGo_Kar ts?hash=item5ad2778e4c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
