I searched thru all the old post & was wondering because this question was never really asked.

Will a raptor shock on a 300ex rasie , lower , or keep the seat height ??

I see the raptor shock has a little more travel
8.7 Raptor
7.9 300ex

Was thinking about doing this swap over.

Thanks

Are yosure they will bolt up to the existing mounts. I think the Raptor shock is longer.

Everyone says they will bolt right on. I hope so, cause I'll be doing it in another month or so! :D

talk to the quad shop they have done this. i beleive they bolt up and u put a 400ex spring on for better performance. the main reason people do it is for more travel and its rebuildable

They put the 400EX spring on there if they weigh under 200lbs. if they r over they leave the Raptor spring on. :D

Yes the raptor shock fits right on. It's hard to find a good place for the rez but it's the best thing I've done to my 300ex. Now I can FLY through the whoops!

I don't think it will raise the seat height enough to be noticable. It has to be a 2001 raptor though.

Off topic but can't you also use a 350x swingarm and 350x shock.

It has to be a 2001? It cant be any of the other years? Because i might do this mod soon as a suspension upgrade to it.

Yes, it must be off an 01 Raptor only!!! If you run the Raptor spring, it raises it a little bit. If you use the 400ex spring, it stays about the same height. On a couple that we did, we had to grind a little excess weld off the upper mount on the frame but it was pretty minor.

It has to be an 01 because it doesn't have a piggyback rezzy on it.

that explains it, makes complete sense. Thanks all. I am going to try this when i can find a shock. I want good suspension for a low cost. I am thinking about getting works w/ rezzies for the front eventually, and was looking for something for the rear as well. but i didnt want to spend 500 bucks on a rear shock. So this was good to know... no wonder i love this site so much
