My vote goes for Pro Taper. I will never put any other bar on any of my bikes. They feel great and are very durable. I have crashed more than a few times with the bike landing directly on the bars without any bending or breaking.

The most recent crash tweeked my stem pretty good, scratched & tweeked the brake res. and tore the grips. The bars were still perfectly straight. Gave me an excuse to get a +2 stem though...lol.

so it sounds like either one are pretty good handle bars. Anyone else got advice

both are very nice. if you like one piece bars you should check out the Tag T2 bars. i just got them. they feel really great very happy with them

I have Tag T2s on my 450r. And love them. Crashed at the track recently bike flipped 3-4 times and the bars were fine. I had Fly bars on my 400ex and rolled it yesterday and those bent. I've heard really good things about Pro Taper bars.

when i got mine it had 7/8 renthals on it and they never bent, i got rid of them bc they were too tall. then i got a set of tag X5's, i flipped it twice and they never bent. Now i have renthal fatbars and i've flipped it a couple of times since then and they haven't bent. I spend alot of time banding my steering stem back straight though:p but all brand name bars(renthal/protaper/tag/sunline/etc.) are strong.

Theyre all strong, you just have to find whats comfortable. I've had carmichael bend on my renthals and now I have Pro tapers with carmichael bend.

yea i know:ermm: the 250 will be pretty expensive to fix, i'm gonna calm down on it. it isn't meant to be rode like the 400 or the 450.
