what year frame

I just bought a frame and Im not sure what year it is Im not particular I am happy regardless however I need to know what year it is? how can you tell?

best way is to post a pic of it, guys on here will be able to tell ya by looking at a pic pretty easily

Does it have a VIN number? 86,87 frames will have the vin tag on the left side behind the foot peg on the frame going to the grab bar. 88,89 frames the vin is stamped in the frame between the front upper shock mounts. The 10th digit on the vin will be a letter. I know G is for an 86. I dont have my chart in front of me now for the other years.

I bought it on ebay and the seller hasnt gotten back to me. iv looked at 86 and 89 frames I just cant seem to tell the diffrence

Looks like 86/87 with a homade back engine mount above the swing arm pivot.

Yea it's an 86 for sure. It's been modified to use an 88-9 swingarm it looks like though.
