I have a 2004 Suzuki LTZ400, It ran absolutely fine a few days ago.

The kid I bought it from never changed the plug or any maintenance.

This is what I have done:

I cleaned the spark arrestor.

I lifted the front wheels off the ground and set them on a five gallon bucket.

Cleaned underneath the ATV. Aprox 30 minutes with the wheels off the ground.

I placed back on flat ground and changed my spark plug.

Now it will start and stall as soon as I give it gas.

Any suggestions?

This is my first ATV however I am very mechanically inclined.

Please help, I have my first big exciting out of state ride this weekend and I might not be able to go unless I figure this out.

1. check you idle setting
2. Main jet could be clogged
3. Make sure you dont have the choke on.

I found today after finally installing the choke that if you start it with out the choke at all it will stall if you try and give it gas quickly...after a couple of minutes it is fine though. Yeah the choke can really cause problems..lol.

I ended up tearing the carb out and soaking it in seafoam. Put carb back in and the beast inside awoke!
