Cody put in a good practice monday....and now his stock heel gaurd is wasted. He said he did it going through a whoops section WFO and as he ripped through it, the frame hit and there ya go.
I found this shot in the mix, shows why heel guards break on many aftermarket nerfs

He has his heels planted in them. I dont run with any heel guards as I feel it restricts the movement in my ankles. That pic shows almost all his weight into them almost as if they were his footpeg.

i love the rath nerfs with the netted heel guards, i ride the same way as cody, i hate how the stock pegs are so skinny, its more comfortable to stick tour feet in the heel gaurd

He is taking off, its a table table step up section.

I think alot of folks ride that way with heel guards, many probably dont even know it:p
The plastic is smooshed up from the bottom on the very inside well of the stock unit on his LTR....and I could hear the rev limiter as he charegd the whoops so I have no doubt that it is when it got broke.
I might just keep snatching up stock heel guards..cheaper then aftermarket that will meet the same fate:p

Hell, he hardly uses the pegs:p

Looks funny, but he was crooked as hell due to a bad lip on the jump and had to correct it all the way down:p

is BPG worth an 8 hour drive?
Pappy

If you like MX ...Yes
If you like riding until you run out of gas...Yes
If you like riding at a facility that lives and breathes quads...Yes
If you like big air...Yes
I would make it into atleast a 3 day trip. The camping, showers, facility and atmosphere is hard to beat.
If your into being a Goon..No
If your not in shape to ride all day...No
If your machine is a POS and cant handle it...NO
I only say this because it would be a waste of money if you went and werent ready to get your moneys worth!!!

When I had to quit racing in 2002 there were no heel guards. They came on stock bikes but no one kept them and there weren't aftermarket ones made yet. When I ride a bike now with them, I can feel them hit the backs of my legs when I'm leaning back in whoops and so on. I'd have to get use to them now. My kids don't know any difference because they've always had them.
yeah heel guards are relatively new in racing, i started in 00 and no one had them on, on my 400ex stock theyd fill up with mud and it was slippery, times have changed for sure:p

i never had heel guards on my 450r or my 400ex. i hated them. i felt the same that it restricted my movement. plus i ran a AC pro peg on both quads

I drive 7 hrs to get there about 4-5 times a year. Like Pappy says though, I stopped doing it for a 2 day weekend. I only go for 3 days at a minimum now.
I would definitely stock up on spare parts for a trip like this. Extra chain, sprockets, bearings, clutch cable, spark plugs, etc.
For a quad, it is close enough to WV to qualify for "Almost Heaven" status. :p In fact when I die, I hope there is a BPG in heaven.

I guess I'm kinda different than most. I run aftermarket pegs and regular ol AC nerfs, without nets, and no heel gaurds. I wear a size 13 boot, and that's one reason, but really, I just don't like them. My feet usually stick to the pegs pretty good.

Yep, lots of bikes there. It is probably easier to learn to ride a bike there too because the landers are forgiving.

Sounds good. David probably told you I dislocated my shoulder twice. MX is out until I have surgery. It is scheduled for Sept 17th. 4 months to heal so I am out for awhile after that too.
