water pump question

I have several water pumps that leak from the weep hole. I took one apart and what it looks like one big seal with a spring in it on the backside of the side cover is a bearing and a oil seal . Now, do I only need to change the mechanical seal? I'm thinking if the mechanical seal was leaking, the coolant would go out the weep hole. If the oil seal was bad, oil would come out the weep hole. Is my thinking correct?? I just need new mechanical seals?

there's a seal in behind your machanical seal that probably went out there for making it leak out your weap hole. I'd just replace all the seals in it.
