i have a set of renthals on my quad as of now. i just ordered a +1 houser steering stem with the 1 7/8 bar clamps for my flexx bars which are sitting in my garage. my question is are these bars as good as my renthals for MX. i know that flexx bars rock in the trials but how are they for MX. I was a big woods guy but i have decided to set the 450r quad up for MX, since my 2005 426ex is my woods quad.

You can't go wrong with Flexx bars in my opinion. Give yourself time to get used to them, and you will never go back to regular bars.

WD-40. Or if they haven't been taken apart to be greased, they probably need that done.

Be careful taking them apart, that voids the warranty unless you let fasst co do it. I am no longer a fan of the flexx bars, for mx I would go with some quality big bars, lots cheaper and more reliable IMO.

Dont get me wrong, I loved my flex bars, that was until they broke off in my hand. Then I just had a $300 paperweight.

What part broke? I've never heard of that happening.

Just practicing, I ride mx. I was using the yellow elastomers. They broke off right where the grip tube goes into the 90. I will have to post pics.

I finally got that pic and remembered to post it. This is what turned me off to flexx bars.

Wow, that's the first I've ever heard of a set doing that. Did you talk to them about it?

You can buy new parts for them. I'm sure you could get that fixed.

I've flipped my quad racing with flexx bars and they held up great.

Also to get rid of the squeaking just follow the rebuild video on their website. I'm pretty sure it doesn't void the warranty because they sell the kits for $5.

It took care of my squeaky bars (bought them used)

Yea I could get the parts but for the cost of the parts I bought some new fat bars. These broke as I was taking off a 60' double. Scared the heck out of me it made me question when the other side will do the same thing. I had never flipped the bike or had anything land on the bars and I bought them brand new. I don't need a crash because of my bars so I switched. Just my experience take it for what its worth.

sounds like my Firestone tire issue on my 350. Had a blow out on the interstate - made firestone come up w/ the cost of the tire ( they probably had enough of me - I wasn't letting go of the issue) the ford dealer said that the steelflex was a great tire. Had a second tire go & bought 4 new ones & never looked back - Goodbye Firestone
