What do I need for valve adjustments??

As some of you may know, I have an 09 DS 450 x MX. I need to check my valve clearance and was wondering if anyone could tell me a part number, etc., for a valve shim kit or anything else I may need. I would look in the manual but I've had a shop manual on order since Apr. 15th and it still has not came in yet. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Craig

I would just check it first; I checked mine after 10 hours like the manual says to, and they were all spot on. If they are out, you'll need to determine by how much, then measure the thickness of the shim thats currently installed, add/subtract the difference, and order new shims accordingly. It's pretty tough to get access to the valve cover, I had the gas tank off of mine to install the heat tape, which made it a lot easier. Make sure you have a set of 1/4" drive Torx and Allen sockets before you start, you'll need to use those with a combination of extensions to get to some of the bolts.
