Bought a 86 a few weeks ago, runs stupid awesome but i wanted a little more. Added vforce reeds and 38mm a/s and k&n. Put it together and its just boggin and smokin.. BAD! I started with a 178 jet and i've used every size down to a 150. So i've figured its the float level and I've tried adjusting it but I either don't get enough fuel or its pouring out the overflow. I've got it close now but the bowl not filling up with gas fast enough and i'll running out. Runs best just before it runs outta gas. I know this isn't right and I'm not riding it like this. Please Help!!! I WANNA RIDE

pilot jet too rich, needle/clip position rich? there is more to the carb than main jet.

Right now I'm 1 1/2 turn on air screw, 48 pilot, 168 main, carb came with a N1EE needle i got it first clip from the top and I live in oklahoma don't know height above sea level. it'll do the same on a 45 pilot, 150 main and air screw all the way in

have you completely gone through the fuel system on it to make sure that there arent any restrictions? after establishing the float height, you may want to bench test the carb to varify that the fuel is actually being shut off as it should. once you checked all else then your ready to jet.

Adjusting your float height is like changing jets, the smallest movement will affect the engine....Most people will tell you DO NOT adjust the float height. If you have a micrometer caliper, find factory settings and then start jetting.
