What ATV with $3,000

Alright by the end of the summer id say ill have around 3,000 bucks and if i were to get a 4-wheeler what would u recomend..... i would use it for trail riding in my woods and an occasional race.... i would be doing some minor mods such as exhaust and intake.... most ppl around here have 400ex's so i would want to keep up with them when i ride..... so with the info given, what do u think??

For 3 grand the only thing you can get brand new is a Yamaha Blaster. You might be able to find some used 400ex's for that price. go to http://www.cycletrader.com or ebay

you can deff get a used 400ex for $3,000 these days.
its a perfect machine for trails, some mx

ever consider the 250r? its a great bike but also comes with a bit of renchin from time to time

think it over. do you need reverse?

i would really like to have reverse but i see all these ppl with 400ex's that say its never been a problem so i guess its not a neccesity.... i wouldnt be looking brand new b/c nothings that cheap....... i would like to stay away from the blaster b/c no offense to anyone that has one but i would feel somewhat embarrased when i said i had a blaster:( ..... i didnt realize u could get a good 400ex for that price but ill deffinatly look.... i would absolutly love to have a 250r but i highly doupt ill be able to find one in good condition for that price..... im guessing from other posts that a 300ex is not a good idea..... nobody has mentioned a warrior or a mojave and i dont have any experience with those....... but my old dirt-bike would hit 65 and at that speed i would pass up my friends 300ex so im thinking a 300ex would be somewhat slow for me....... oh and if this matters im only 5'8 and 150lbs....... so a 400ex is in the lead right now im guessing:confused:

honda foreman 450es to a
honda 300ex to a
honda 250r

yes i trail ride a lot, but now im gettin more in mx racing

i looked at a 250r befor i got my warrior and i wished i woulda got that because it woulda saved me a whole lotta money.

either way the 400ex is a great pick

I'd say if you don't care about the reverse, get an R, if you want reverse get a 300EX. Both could easily be gotten for $3000 and if you shopped around even cheaper, that way you have money left for mods

250r no doubt or quite possibly a ued 400ex with a lil more cash

ill look for a 250r.... i realize that they are supposed to be a very good 4-wheeler but with the 250cc engine do they have a good amount of power, like climbing hills??..... and any idea what the top speed on one of these are?... stock
