We powder all of our own stuff. Its a fun experience to learn. Our first few things come out nasty but we got the hang of it and all the prep now we do everything from bolts to frames. We got an oven that was built by an old deep freeze carcus. We do all the locals stuff for show cars and street bikes. its fun to be a part of everyones projects. have fun with your learning experience.

Ya we already got a rather small blast cabinet that i can fit most of my quad parts in, so prep shouldnt be a problem, later to night i am going to pick up a very nice oven with a glass top for $50, the onl thing is that the top has a crack, ( Still works) so once eastwood sends me my invoice the gun will be here saturday!!!!!!!!

08-03-2009, 12:44 PM
awsome thanks again flyboy, how much would u charge me 300 maniac and balcknblue???

WoW Pappy has very resonable prices, you obviously dont know what your talking about, and you cant rebuild stock shocks

08-03-2009, 02:52 PM
are u serious???i thought u could rebuild ur stock shocks instead of buying aftermarket ones?????  and pappy does have very reasonable prices, its i only 50$

Good luck getting all that PC done with $50:eek2:

And yes, on the 450's which have gas resevoir shocks they can be rebuilt. But not 250ex shocks..

i race in prod stock c, he would own me lol, hope to see you guys there, are you going to mx207?

Pappy
08-03-2009, 07:35 PM
I think so..have to look at the schedule. That is the one in NH correct?

JParisi48
08-03-2009, 07:37 PM
no mx207 is in lyman maine, its a big track, big jumps compared to the other tracks mostly, and josh creamer and nate morello battled to the last lap the first time neatv was there this year, they always do fun stuff there too, i think there is a dunk tank there this time:D

Pappy
08-03-2009, 07:39 PM
yeah im scheduled to be there unless they send me somewhere else....maine and NH are in my list for this season

hey pappy... I like your picture choice for the NEATV series- Rd #7 on your smugmug image gallery. was that picture taken by cody?
I'm looking forward to some more sweet pictures from the two of you at mx207.
That quad's chain came off the back sprocket and ripped off the mounts for the case saver this past weekend. Oh well I will probably just finish the season without a case saver and then replace the cases during the off season, unless someone knows a way to fix the mounts. At least the rest of the case seems to be intact and it hasn't leaked any oil.
My weekend in production c didn't go very well, 11th out of 11. 4 stroke C went much better for me on my new 2008 yfz that bought from Thomas Brown 2 1/2 weeks ago, I went 8-7 for a 6th overall out of 17. It's so much more fun to ride a quad with an aftermarket exhaust and suspension:D

What class is kevin thinking of trying?

and to keep this thread somewhat on track...
have fun 300maniac with your powdercoating. it I were you I would try experimenting with some scrap metal or parts you don't really care about until you get the whole process figured out. at least that way you won't have to spend the time getting it all back off if it doesn't come out perfect the first try

what class does your brother run? and i would suggest if hes coming up to come to the mx207(Lyman, Maine) because jolly(jolly rogers Lempster, NH) the last few years has been a rocky tire eater, just givin ya a heads up on what to expect.

Kevin would probably run Vet 30+. He doesnt have any trouble running with most A class riders, but if he is eligible for an age class then why not:p

I doubt I can drag him that far away, but he was eyeing up southwick.

Yes motohanks, thats Codys shot! Sorry to hear about your chain:(

 I don't know... when I have such a bad couple of races I don't exactly feel motivated to watch it again. the camera is still in my gear bin with the memory card in it. if you want to see any of it feel free to stop by at mx207 or any of the races, I usually bring my laptop just in case I want to see what happened in one of my races.

I really need to get back up front in production so that I don't throw away the championship. hopefully I am going to mx207 before the next race to practice at least once. it just sucks that my friend from maine that I usually pit with broke his arm first moto in production b and we had been planning on practicing at mx207 this past thursday. hopefully I am going next thursday since my dad is getting some teeth pulled next wednesday and he doesn't think he'll want to go to work the next day. I'll just have to do all of the driving and everything.

300maniac... I look forward to seeing how your powdercoating comes out. good luck and have fun with it.

What oven did you end up getting

born2ride14
08-10-2009, 08:44 AM
A nice little electric GE oven glass top! $50, the glass top is crack thoug but everything still works. Its actually very big inside.

Pappy
08-10-2009, 08:48 AM
That willw ork for small parts.

Be sure to wear a dust mask and have a way to contain the powder when applying it, it will get everywhere:p And ventilate the curing area.

They look good. My main concern on my powder is durability. Make sure your oven thermostat is good and gettin up to the right temperature or it will flake off. We run 3 thermometers in our oven to be sure its the right temp all over the whole part. But your stuff does look real good to be startin out man, Congrats......its fun

m0t0xk1d
08-10-2009, 09:55 AM
how much does all this stuff usually runh you to start out? i really want to start powdercoating my own stuff but it always seems like its a alot of money? im not looking for top of the line i just want something that i can powdercoating things with but not like big ehoung or my frame that seems to expensive

born2ride14
08-10-2009, 10:19 AM
50 for an oven
90 for the gun
30 for the powder
10 for tape and misc
200-500 for a 220v hook up but i already had the 220v for my welders

i have about 200 in my set up.

I need to get a picture of my cardboard booth lol

50 for an oven? is it like a toaster oven?

born2ride14
08-10-2009, 11:53 AM
no its a full size oven you can get them cheap like that on craigsliast
