I can help you a little as I am looking into this myself:

1- LSR, Herrmann Racing, and maybe others make the chassis but they are expensive (approx. $2500 for frame alone). John Arens is in the process of making one that will be stronger and cheaper. He says his will include the frame, a arms, steering stem, and swingarm for around $2500. Great deal.

2- I hear it puts around 45 to 50 hp to the wheels, pretty impressive

3- Tough to say. Plan on spending a lot though. I would guess with an Arens chassis and motor you would have about $7000 into it. Then you need shocks, radiator, ...

4- 5 speed. I think the yz is comparable but I am a honda man so that is what I would run.

Hope this helps.

I would imagine you could mount it in a stock frame, but you would have to do alot of variations to the frame and make motor mounts. With a four stroke dirt bike engine you should not have to worry about any vibrations. Hopefully soon honda will put the 450 engine in a quad frame.

vibration is low. you can modify a stock 400ex chassis. Do not buy a hermman frame, they are junk! the geometry is all wrong and they break easy. For example the swing arm pivot bolt on the frame is like 2 inches from the rear motor mount (250r) I have no idea how this guy actualy sells these things!

Houser and Gibson both have nice frames to house the crf450 engine.
