gaskets

im planning on getting stage II hot cams and im wondering do i need to get new gaskets or can i use the ones that are on the cycle now? and if i do need new gaskets can someone give me a couple optoins or brands, thanks

you should only need one for the valve cover unless you want to tear the whole top end off to do something too. it may be ok depending on what year and the wear it has, bu will most likely tear. if you want to get a full kit you can get some cometic or something similar, but if you just want to get the valve cover one either get one on ebay possibly or from service honda, bikebandit or the local dealer can order you one. steve

alright man thanks..its just cams for now, later on down the road if i dont buy a yfz ill do more motor work..its a 05 but ill probably just get a new one anyway wouldnt hurt i guess

Always good to have extra as no one likes seeing there bike in pieces waiting on parts to come in.

And yeah most likely it will tear.

The rocker cover for the 400ex has a reuseable metal gasket. Just be careful with it and make sure that all of the surfaces are clean before you put it back together.

alright thanks..if thats the case ill just try to do reuse the stock gasket and if i fail ill wait for a new one to come in..why spend money if you dont need to..

Id just reuse the valve gasket, Ive had mine apart several times and havent had a leak yet.

it is good to know that it is reusable. i just replaced mine when i did my rebuild cause it was in my full kit i bought. lol, i never took it off before that. steve
