For those of you who wonder how 400EX rear plastic and seat will fit on the 300. I see a lot of questions about mounting 400 plastics on a 300 so here is the skinny. The front actually fits very nicely except the cutout for the petcock lever. This is one of the only mods. that has to be done to mount rear Maier 400 race plastic and seat to the 300. As you can see in the picture, the 400 seat hooks are wider than the tabs on the frame. The tabs have to be cut off, moved out, and rewelded. I have been running these plastics for years and am just now getting around to making this mod. I use to just snap the seat on with the right hook under the right tab and the left hook to the outside of the left tab. It did fine this way for the exception that the seat was a little crooked. Right now I am trying to find someone in the area that can do this for me seeing that I do not have a welder at my disposal. No luck so far though. Man, this rebuild is never going to be finished
