After a few days of sanding, welding and painting we are finished. We decided to go with a little extra beef. I saw where several had broke the bottom where the swinger mounts and we thought it would be better to do a little extra.

Nice job. Have you tried to get a bolt and nut
in the top shock mount, it looks tight.

looks nice, but I hope you didn't make it too stiff now by boxing it in like that. The frame NEEDS to flex somewhere...

I gusseted ours up after it broke the first time... and again, and again... and eventually it was cracking in places they usually don't. But then that was after 3 seasons, So maybe you'll be okey for awhile.

if he's jumping the crap out of that thing, youd better get some shocks. it will break in some strange places and the shocks really help.

Thanks for the input guys....

New Elkas are on the way, should be here in about 10 days. The top plate was tacked in with the shock mounted and removed for welding. It has plenty of clearance for the shock mount and we left a little extra for the Elkas. We can always grind out a little more room.

It may need to flex, it's gonna have to do it some where else. After looking at all the threads and folks complaining about frame breakage it seemed 95% was coming directly from near the swinger mount up to the top rails and the supports connected to that area.

Unless we are jumping three story buildings I hope we are done with frame repair, not saying it cant happen again but at our level I hope we have done enough to keep it from happening again. The Elkas should help and Dominator axles will be ordered next week.

If it happens again I will post the pics, hopefully others may find the information useful regarding the success of this type of gussetting. This is the place to come for experienced opinions and information, thanks for all you guys help.

very nice work ! Jag is right ( they have broken more frames in more places than you can imagine) , you need to add a corner gusset inside the area he pictured , this is a common area, other than that looks nice.

We are going to add something there. Thanks for pointing that out. I will post a few pics when we are done.

finished with our frame repair. This is the final product, if it breaks I'll post the pics. Maybe it will stay together, we are not jumping Ceasars Palace yet like some of yall. I have seen some of the videos and pics and I dont think there is anything made that will stand up to that punishment other than the M1 Abrams.
