charging problem

Hey all, nice forum you got here! I am current having issues keeping my battery at full charge after the quad has been running for a while. It just seems as if the battery drains and cant keep a charge. I DID go and buy a new battery because I figured that the stock battery was to blame... install new one and the same thing... battery drains and is dead in about a half hour after it is recharged. So my question; is there a stator(?) or something that is failing and not charging the battery when running? any suggestion or trouble shooting help would be great, thanks.:)

yes there is a stator.
check all wires going to the battery and stator make sure they are all hooked up and have clean contact

pull the clutch cover and check to see if the clutch basket bolts have not backed out and chewed up the stator.. that has been a bit of and issue on thes quads.

Ok, thanks for the help. So the stator is under the clutch cover...? Pardon my ignorance, but can you please tell me what it looks like. thanks
