I was wondering if I can use Engine Restore, or a similar product in my '99 400 EX.

I've used it in my older cars in high school and it took a weak smoking engine and made it run strong with little smoke. I just want to add a little compression and stop it from smoking until I rebuild it over the winter.

My only concern is the clutch. I cannot find anything on line that says that it is safe or not for a wet clutch and I'd rather not risk it.

If anyone knows if it will work, or a similar product I'd appreciate it.

Can't say about the Restore product, but I have used a product that I swear by in autos and atv engines alike, Auto-Rx. Here's a link: link (http://www.auto-rx.com/cycle-rx/index.html) This is a little pricey, but will absolutely help the engine and not affect your clutch. Be sure to follow the application instructions exactly. This product will clean the ring packs, which if they are frozen from years of crud will allow them to grip the cylinder wall better and your engine will be like new, or close to it.
