buddys buying a 525 are they any good

hes gonna be riding trails and some tracks ive never really seen one in person or rode one so i kinda dont know anything about them besides they have a ktm engine on them. ive been told they haul ***** but just wanted to see if yall have rode one owned one or what hes buying it new so he wants to make sure its worth buying any help is needed....and how does the suspension on them work i know they have fox shocks not gas though.

everyone on here will bash them. say they are junk. they really are good machines ridden the old and newer ones and liked them as much as my YFZ. my buddy only rides Outlaw's and he pounds them. his have held up exceptionally well.

are they real fast? like would they hang with my ltr 450 if not beat me in a straight line?

uh, idk. the 525 is a torque monster. id say it would beat it off the line, but the LTR might catch up at the end. id say they are prolly fairly even.

thats stock and on hard ground of course.

no. he has a 525 IRS and SRA. both ridden very hard in the woods with no problems.

The outlaw is liable to beat you in a drag, provided he can ride, but you should be able to beat him on a track, provided you can ride. They are a little tippy for a track and aren't as wide as you are with an LTR.

depending on how serious of a racer he is he should be alright.

ive seen someone at the track with a 525irs and he is fast. it looks like he had wider a arms in the back tho. also with a good sway bar on the back you would even tell you had irs not a axle

if he is gonna be one the track half of the time he would be better off getting sra.

then your like, okay ill get the 525 sra. why not just get a 450 so you could be liable to race with 450's?

their great quads all around....as long as the motor is stock (exhaust and intake is fine just don't go internal unless your prepared to keep spending money over and over). also be careful with the rear plastics if you buy an 09 they have a tendency to break the rear plastics off the lowest mount but a couple companys do sell brackets that fixt that problem.

suspension is gonna be pretty stiff when he gets it so take the time first ride out to adjust it and make it more comfortable for him.

yea it does sit high i dont no why it does. it was lower before but when its low the suspension is really soft and that just wasnt working for me.
