another whats it worth?

i have a bud selling an 04 450r. it does have some rust on the frame and a-arms. it has an aftermarket axle, fasst handlebars, nerfs an a bunch of other little things. he's asking 3 grand an i was wondering if its worth it. also whats the good an bad things about an '04? thanx

sounds like a pretty good price. they are very reliable. they dont have fcr carb stock on them but it is not completely necessary.

i was suprised but the plastics were actualy in really good shape. the biggest thing that i dont like is the rust on the a-arms. even though i would get +2's later on.. is the any other commom problems that you guys know of on the '04's?

I have seen on the forums that some people say they have had some broken frames and some have had crank problems. I personally now alot of people with 04-05 including myself have not had a single problem at all. I dont now how true those other statements are but i can only tell you for sure my own experience and what i have worked on and seen first had. In fact most of the racers prefer the 04-05. they are more reliable in stock or race form. I have had mine since jan of 04. If you buy make sure you do regular oil and filter changes it is a must on a 450
