View Full Version : 87' Honda 350x 4x4, timing chain tensioner ?

This bike is a 350x, 4x4, utility.

I wasn't sure how this timing chain tensioner worked? There is no spring, it just screws in to tighten the chain. It seems like that would loosen up.

Basically I just turned it till there was tension on the chain. Then I tried to find I screw (9) that looked like it would screw in far enought that it would rest on the turning part of the tensioner and hold in in place.

So is that at all right, does it just hold its self in place or something? I'm going to try and attach a pic or atleast a web link co you can see the part.

yeah you are good, its an automatic tensioner, you are good man, dont worry, honda has it all figured out.... peace out

my 300 4x4 has the same thing you just shove it in there and tighten her down ther's a spring in there and it applies pressure acordingly
