i know this isn't the 450r section but just need some peoples humble opinion. i was browsing ebay and seen this 450r forsale, owner states that it only has 50 miles on the engine and has been sitting for the last 3 YEARS. but if you look at the rear tires there is absolutely no tread left. when emailed he stated "Well, driving them on rocky roads will do that to a tire. Wait, isn't it the rear wheels that do all the spinning?" 50 miles riding on roads will not eat that much tread... what do you guys think?

you can ride 50 miles in a weekend.......do you go through a set a ride? thats the logic

FIrst of all, how the hell would he know how many "miles" were on the engine, unless he had an odometer on the bike, which I doubt, and second, I ride my 400ex on the street quite a bit to get to the trails, and in 3 years, I STILL haven't worn out my stock tires to that point yet.

So that ought to tell you he's full of ****.

For stock rear back tires they dont look that bad. But to say its 50miles is false. Still looks like a good bike though. I would hate buying one online without being able to see it inspect it and ride it before the purchase.

i have an 02 with the stock tires and i have more tread than those tires do and i have alot more miles than 50.

report him to ebay and see what they do. if you have it on your account you should definitely be able to get him off of ebay. steve
