Whats the difference between a stage 1 and stage 2 cam. I'm suspecting that it's the duration that the vavles are open. I was wondering what i could expect from installing a stage 1 vs. a stage 2, vise-versa?:huh

Stage 1 is a smaller cam with a better low end and the stage 2 is open longer and gives some more mid to top end. the duration is longer on the stage 2 but the lift is just about the same if i remember correctly. if you look for hotcam 400ex specs on the search i think there is a chart for the specs on them and the rest of the cams made for the 400. good luck, steve

from one site: Tomahawk, Wisconsin. ... Tomahawk, Wisconsin. ... It has an average elevation of 1443.94 feet above sea level.

i'd call it 1,500ft

i'm at 1,240 - 7,100 ft depending if im in the desert or up at the cinders. @avg i'd call it 2,00ft. I was just curious to see set-ups at different ele's and climates per humidity/temp/barameteric pressures....anyway,

so on your 416 did you bore the sleeve or did you bore the cylinder and press a new sleeve @ 87mm?

you just bore the sleeve to do the 406, 416 and the 426. the 440 requires the cylinder to be bored and a new sleeve to be pressed in. sounds cool on the set up info. it changes quite a bit from elevation and such. steve

you can also do a pressed sleeve on a 426 too but it can be done on the stock sleeve which is how it is done 99% of the time. you dont see many 426 sleeves around. steve

that sucks for you guys, the higher the elevation the lass horsepower you have, there is a math behind it but i forgot, im at 400 ft so i guess i got lucky

Every 440 sleeve i have ever seen come's at 88mm (426) it is bored and honed to 89mm (440). I had a sleeve put in my 426. its a L.A. Sleeve 440. all i had to do was have it installed and finish honed to 426.

So how's the 426 sleeve? you gain low end or all through out the power band? did you have to go with a bigger carb? just instrested in what kind of gains you get with this kit and what mods go with it. also, would you recomend this kit over the 440 and the 416?
